The Standing Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade met in camera this day at 11:30 a.m., in room W120, 1 Wellington St., the chair, the Honourable Peter M. Boehm, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Boehm, Coyle, Deacon (Ontario), Gerba, Greene, Harder, P.C., MacDonald, McNair, Ravalia and Richards (10).
Participating in the meeting: Nadia Faucher and Brian Hermon, analysts, Library of Parliament.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, October 26, 2023, the committee continued its study on Canada’s interests and engagement in Africa.
Pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee discussed in camera a draft agenda (future business).
It was agreed that members’ staff be permitted to be in the room during the in camera meeting.
It was agreed that the committee allow the audio recording of today’s in camera meeting, that one copy be kept with the clerk of the committee for consultation by committee members and/or staff, and that the recording be destroyed by the clerk when authorized to do so by the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure, but no later than at the end of this parliamentary session.
At 12:30 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
