That notwithstanding section 1.5.5.50 of the Financial Policy for Senate Committees, the committee is requesting CIBA that a member of the Chair’s staff be eligible to travel with a committee outside of Canada.

The Chair: Thank you. Is it agreed:
That the budget application for travel to Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) for a fact-finding mission, for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2025, be approved for submission to the Standing Committee on Internal Economy, Budgets and Administration.
Hon. Senators: Agreed.

For a summary of the budget, activity 1 would amount to a trip to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in the fall of 2024, at a total maximum cost of $265,400.

Senator MacDonald: Will there be a substitute tomorrow?
The Chair: Yes, there will be a substitute chair that your good self, as a member of the steering committee, might want to nominate at the meeting.

The Chair: That’s a very good rehearsal, because you’ll do that tomorrow.
