The Standing Senate Committee on Energy, the Environment and Natural Resources met this day at 9:01 a.m., in room B30, Senate of Canada Building, the chair, the Honourable Paul J. Massicotte, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Cardozo, Galvez, Massicotte, McCallum, Miville-Dechêne, Verner, P.C. and Wells (Newfoundland and Labrador) (7).
Other senators present: The Honourable Senator Youance (1).
Participating in the meeting: Jesse Good and Avalon Jennings, analysts, Library of Parliament.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, February 24, 2022, the committee continued its study on emerging issues related to the committee’s mandate. (Topic: Climate Change: Canadian Oil & Gas Industry)

Simon Dyer, Simon Langlois-Bertrand and Dakota Norris each made a statement and answered questions.
At 10:04 a.m., the committee suspended.
At 10:05 a.m., pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee resumed in camera to discuss a draft agenda (future business).
It was agreed that the committee allow the audio recording of the in camera portion of today’s meeting, that one copy be kept with the clerk of the committee for consultation by committee members or staff, and that the audio recording be destroyed by the clerk when authorized to do so by the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure, but no later than at the end of this parliamentary session.
At 10:52 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
