The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met this day at 6:45 p.m., in room B45, Senate of Canada Building, the chair, the Honourable Percy Mockler, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Dagenais, Forest, Galvez, Gignac, Loffreda, MacAdam, Marshall, Mockler, Pate and Smith (10).

Participating in the meeting: André Léonard and Shaowei Pu, analysts, Library of Parliament.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, the committee continued its examination of expenditures set out in the Main Estimates for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2024.

WITNESSES:

Public Services and Procurement Canada:

Wojciech (Wojo) Zielonka, Chief Financial Officer, Finance and Administration Branch;

Alain Lagacé, Director General, Budget, Cost and Investment Management.

Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat:

Jean-François Fleury, Senior Assistant Deputy Minister, Strategic Directions and Digital Solutions, Office of the Chief Human Resources Officer;

Rod Greenough, Executive Director, Expenditure Strategies and Estimates.

Wojciech Zielonka made a statement and, together with Rod Greenough, Jean-François Fleury and Alain Lagacé, answered questions.

At 8:33 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
