The Standing Senate Committee on Official Languages met this day at 4:59 p.m., in room B30, Senate of Canada Building, the chair, the Honourable René Cormier, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Aucoin, Audette, Clement, Cormier, Mégie and Moncion (6).

Participating in the meeting: Catlin Seibel-Kamél, Legislative Clerk, Committees Directorate; Marie‑Ève Hudon, Analyst, Library of Parliament.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, March 9, 2023, the committee continued its study of matters relating to minority-language health services.

WITNESSES:

Canadian Psychological Association:

Anita Gupta, President (by videoconference);

Stewart Madon, Director, Professional Affairs.

Canadian Physiotherapy Association:

Krissy Bell, Chief Executive Officer;

Jennifer O’Neil, Physiotherapist and Assistant Professor, University of Ottawa.

Health Workforce Canada:

Deborah Cohen, Chief Operating Officer.

Psychological Association of Manitoba:

Harold Wallbridge, Registrar (by videoconference).

Anita Gupta and Krissy Bell each made a statement and, together with Stewart Madon and Jennifer O’Neil, answered questions.

At 6:01 p.m., the committee suspended.

At 6:05 p.m., the committee resumed.

Deborah Cohen and Harold Wallbridge each made a statement and answered questions.

At 6:58 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
