The Standing Senate Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met this day at 9:02 a.m., in room W120, 1 Wellington Street, the chair, the Honourable Fabian Manning, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Busson, Cordy, Francis, Manning, McPhedran and Ravalia (6).
Participating in the meeting: Annie Trudel, Administrative Assistant, Committees Directorate; Daniele Lafrance, Analyst, Library of Parliament.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, the committee continued its examination of Canada’s seal populations and seal harvest.
WITNESSES:
Canadian Food Inspection Agency:
Isabelle Laberge, Senior Director, Food Safety Division;
Kathy Twardek, Director, Food Safety and Consumer Protection Directorate.
Isabelle Laberge made a statement and, together with Kathy Twardek, answered questions.
