The Standing Senate Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met this day at 9:06 a.m., in room W110, 1 Wellington St., the chair, the Honourable Fabian Manning, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Deacon (Ontario), Francis, Kutcher, Manning, Patterson (Ontario) and Ravalia (6).
Participating in the meeting: Daniele Lafrance, Analyst, Library of Parliament.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, February 10, 2022, the committee continued its examination of the federal government's current and evolving policy framework for managing Canada’s fisheries and oceans including maritime safety. (Topic: Independence of commercial inshore fisheries in Atlantic Canada and Quebec)

Jennifer Buie made a statement and, together with Doug Wentzell, Maryse Lemire and Jennifer Mooney, answered questions.
At 9:56 a.m., the committee suspended.
At 10:03 a.m., the committee resumed.
