The Standing Senate Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met this day at 12:50 p.m. NT, in Salon A, Sheraton Hotel Newfoundland, the chair, the Honourable Fabian Manning, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Ataullahjan, Busson, Cordy, Duncan, Francis, Manning, McPhedran, Patterson (Ontario) and Quinn (9).
Other senators present: The Honourable Senator Petten (1).
Participating in the meeting: Daniele LaFrance, Analyst, Library of Parliament; Ben Silverman, Communications Officer, Communications, Broadcasting and Publications Directorate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, the committee continued its examination of Canada’s seal populations and seal harvest.
