The Standing Senate Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met this day at 9:02 a.m., in room W110, 1 Wellington St., the deputy chair, the Honourable Bev Busson, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Ataullahjan, Aucoin, Busson, Cordy, Cuzner, Deacon (Nova Scotia), Deacon (Ontario), McPhedran, Petten and Ravalia (10).
Participating in the meeting: Sara Gajic, Procedural Clerk, Committees Directorate; Daniele Lafrance and Poonam Jusrut, analysts, Library of Parliament; and Monica Granados, Communications Officer, Communications Directorate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, the committee continued its examination on the Great Lakes Fishery Commission and its work.

Andrew Muir, Director, Science.
Andrew Muir made a statement and, together with Michael Siefkes and John Dettmers, answered questions.
At 10:28 a.m., the committee suspended.
At 10:34 a.m., pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee proceeded in camera to discuss a draft agenda (future business).
It was agreed that the committee allow the transcription of this in camera meeting, that one copy be kept with the clerk for consultation by committee members and/or staff, and that transcription be destroyed by the clerk when authorized to do so by the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure, but no later than at the end of the parliamentary session.
At 10:59 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
