Pursuant to the order of the Senate of November 25, 2021, the Standing Committee on Rules, Procedures and the Rights of Parliament met in camera this day in room B30, Senate of Canada Building, and with videoconference, at 11:04 a.m. ET, the chair, the Honourable Diane Bellemare, presiding.

Members of the committee present by videoconference: The Honourable Senators Bellemare, Black, Boniface, Busson, Carignan, P.C., Clement, Cordy, Duncan, Greene, Lankin, P.C., Massicotte, Mockler, Ringuette and Wells (14).

Other senators present by videoconference: The Honourable Senator Griffin (1).

Participating in the meeting:  Shaila Anwar, Acting Clerk Assistant, Committees Directorate; Emily Barrette, Procedural Clerk, Chamber Operations and Procedure Office; Ginette Ricard, Attendance and Administration Assistant, Office of the Clerk of the Senate; Stephanie Feldman and Erin Virgint, analysts, Library of Parliament.

Pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee considered a draft agenda (future business).

It was agreed that senators’ staff be permitted to remain during the in camera meeting.

At 1 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
