Pursuant to the order of the Senate of November 25, 2021, the Standing Committee on Rules, Procedures and the Rights of Parliament met this day in room C128, Senate of Canada Building, and with videoconference, at 11:00 a.m. ET, the chair, the Honourable Diane Bellemare, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Batters and Greene (2).
Members of the committee present by videoconference: The Honourable Senators Bellemare, Black, Busson, Clement, Cordy, Duncan, Greene, Lankin, P.C., Manning, Petitclerc, Ringuette and Wells (12).
Other senators present by videoconference: The Honourable Senator McCallum (1).
Participating in the meeting: Emily Barrette, Procedural Clerk, Chamber Operations and Procedure Office; Ginette Ricard, Attendance and Administration Assistant, Office of the Clerk of the Senate; Stephanie Feldman and Erin Virgint, analysts, Library of Parliament.
The Honourable Senator Lankin, P.C., moved that the Honourable Senator Batters be deputy chair of the committee.
The question being put on the motion, it was adopted.
