The Standing Committee on Rules, Procedures and the Rights of Parliament met this day at 9:01 a.m., in room B30, Senate of Canada Building, the chair, the Honourable Diane Bellemare, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Ataullahjan, Batters, Bellemare, Black, Busson, Cordy, Deacon (Ontario), Greene, Ringuette, Saint-Germain and Woo (11).
Participating in the meeting: Erin Virgint, Analyst, Library of Parliament.
Pursuant to rule 12-7(2)(a), the committee continued its consideration of possible amendments to the Rules.
The Honourable Senator Black moved that the committee report on the agreed changes to the Rules arising from the letter from the Clerk of the Senate, and that the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure be authorized to approve the final text of the report.
The question being put on the motion, it was adopted.
At 10 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
