The Standing Senate Committee on Transport and Communications met this day at 6:50 p.m., in room B45, Senate of Canada Building, the chair, the Honourable Leo Housakos, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Cardozo, Clement, Dasko, Housakos, Miville-Dechêne, Quinn and Simons (7).

Participating in the meeting: Jed Chong and Khamla Heminthavong, analysts, Library of Parliament.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, February 10, 2022, the committee continued its study on the impacts of climate change on critical infrastructure in the transportation and communications sectors and the consequential impacts on their interdependencies.

WITNESSES:

Aéroports de Montréal:

Martin Massé, Vice-President, Public Affairs and Vice-President, Sustainability.

Greater Toronto Airports Authority:

Todd Ernst, Director, Energy and Environment (by videoconference).

Quebec Port Authority:

Hugues Paris, Vice-President, Sustainability (by videoconference).

Ontario Trucking Association:

Stephen Laskowski, President and Chief Executive Officer (by videoconference);

James Steed, Chair (by videoconference);

Geoffrey Wood, Senior Vice-President, Policy (by videoconference).

Martin Massé and Todd Ernst each made a statement and answered questions.

At 7:43 p.m., the committee suspended.

At 7:50 p.m., the committee resumed.

Hugues Paris and Geoffrey Wood each made a statement and, together with Stephen Laskowski and James Steed, answered questions.

At 8:31 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
