The Subcommittee on Veterans Affairs met this day at 12 p.m., in room B45, Senate of Canada Building, the chair, the Honourable David Richards, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Anderson, Boisvenu, Deacon (Ontario), Richards and Yussuff (5).

Participating in the meeting: Jean-Rodrigue Paré, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, February 10, 2022, the subcommittee continued its study on issues relating to Veterans Affairs, including services and benefits provided, commemorative activities, and the continuing implementation of the Veteran’s Well-being Act.

WITNESSES (by videoconference):

As individuals:

Dr. Muhammad Ishrat Husain, Lead of the Mood Disorders Service and Clinician Scientist, General Adult Psychiatry and Health Systems Division, Centre for Addiction and Mental Health;

Zachary Walsh, Professor, Department of Psychology, University of British Columbia.

Dr. Muhammad Ishrat Husain and Zachary Walsh each made a statement and answered questions.

At 12:58 p.m., the subcommittee adjourned to the call of the chair.
