The Standing Senate Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met this day at 8:34 a.m., in room W110, 1 Wellington St., the chair, the Honourable Fabian Manning, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Boudreau, Busson, Cuzner, Deacon (Nova Scotia), Manning, Poirier, Prosper and Ravalia (8).
Participating in the meeting: Daniele Lafrance, Analyst, Library of Parliament.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, the committee continued its study of ocean carbon sequestration and its use in Canada.

At 8:37 a.m., the committee suspended.
At 8:46 a.m., the committee resumed.
Anya Waite and Abed El Rahman Hassoun each made a statement and answered questions.
At 9:37 a.m., the committee suspended.
At 9:38 a.m., pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee resumed in camera to discuss a draft report.
It was agreed that the committee allow the audio recording of the in camera portion of today's meeting, that one copy be kept with the clerk of the committee for consultation by committee members or staff, and that the recording be destroyed by the clerk when authorized to do so by the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure, but no later than at the end of this parliamentary session.
At 9:59 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
