The Standing Senate Committee on Human Rights met this day at 5 p.m., in room B45, Senate of Canada Building, the chair, the Honourable Paulette Senior, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Arnold, Arnot, Coyle, Downe, Housakos, McPhedran, Robinson, Senior and Wells (Alberta) (9).

Participating in the meeting: Robert Mason and Madalina Chesoi, analysts, Library of Parliament.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, September 25, 2025, the committee continued its study on antisemitism in Canada.

WITNESSES:

Concentus Citizenship Education Foundation:

David Fisher, Executive Director (by videoconference).

Canadian Women Against Antisemitism:

Talia Klein Leighton, President.

Raoul Wallenberg Centre for Human Rights:

Noah Lew, Director, Raoul Wallenberg Centre for Human Rights and Special Advisor to the Honourable Irwin Cotler (by videoconference).

As individuals:

Rachel Cook, Student, University of Alberta.

Brian Bronfman, President and Co-founder, Peace Network for Social Harmony (by videoconference).

His Excellency Iddo Moed, Ambassador, Embassy of Israel to Canada.

David Fisher, Rachel Cook and Talia Klein Leighton each made a statement and answered questions.

At 5:59 p.m., the committee suspended.

At 6:06 p.m., the committee resumed.

Noah Lew and Brian Bronfman each made a statement and answered questions.

At 6:51 p.m., the committee suspended.

At 6:56 p.m., the committee resumed.

At 6:56 p.m., the Honourable Senator Downe replaced the Honourable Senator Robinson as a member of the committee.

His Excellency Iddo Moed made a statement and answered questions.

At 7:54 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
