The Standing Senate Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology met this day at 11:29 a.m., in room B45, Senate of Canada Building, the chair, the Honourable Rosemary Moodie, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Arnold, Boudreau, Burey, Greenwood, Hay, McPhedran, Moodie, Muggli, Osler, Petitclerc and Senior (11).
Other senators present: The Honourable Senators Audette and Cardozo (2).
Participating in the meeting: Diana Ambrozas and Laura Blackmore, Analysts, Library of Parliament.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, the committee began its consideration of Bill S-215, An Act respecting National Immigration Month.
WITNESSES:
The Honourable Senator Amina Gerba, sponsor of the bill.
Africa Study Group:
Cheickh Tidjane Bangoura, President.
The Honourable Senator Gerba and Cheickh Tidjane Bangoura each made a statement and answered questions.
