The Standing Senate Committee on Transport and Communications met this day at 9 a.m., in room B45, Senate of Canada Building, the chair, the Honourable Larry W. Smith, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Arnold, Cardozo, Cormier, Dasko, Hay, Mohamed, Osler, Quinn, Simons, Smith and Wilson (11).
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, the committee began its study of the local services provided by the CBC/Radio-Canada.

Marie-Philippe Bouchard, President and Chief Executive Officer;
Brodie Fenlon, General Manager and Editor-in-Chief;
Jean Francois Rioux, General Manager, Regional Services;
Bev Kirshenblatt, Executive Director, Corporate and Regulatory Affairs.
Marie-Philippe Bouchard made a statement and, together with Brodie Fenlon, Jean Francois Rioux and Bev Kirshenblatt, answered questions.
At 11 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
