In the spring of 2013, members of the Senate Committee on Official Languages began a study on Canada’s language policies and second-language learning. Since the early 1970s, much of the federal government’s investment in official languages has gone to second-language learning. In June 2015, they published the first report of a two-part study, presenting an overview of the practices in Canada.
