The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met at 5:15 p.m. this day, in Room 356-S, the Chairman, the Honourable Senator Tkachuk, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: The Honourable Senators Tkachuk, Bolduc, Cools, Forest, Poulin, Rizzuto, and Stratton (7).
Other senators present: The Honourable Senator Gustafson.
In attendance from the Parliamentary Centre: Dr. Edward J.D. Ketchum, Director of Research.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.

David Dawson, Regulatory Policy Analyst, Radio Regulatory Branch.
Pursuant to its Orders of Reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, May 30, 1996, the Committee began its examination of Bill C-31, An Act to implement certains provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on March 6, 1996.
Mr. Campbell made opening remarks and with Messrs Wyatt, Cameron, Dobson and Dawson, answered questions.
At 5:35 p.m., the Committee recessed.
At 6:00 p.m. the Committee resumed its agenda.
At 7:10 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
