The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met, in camera at 9:30 a.m., this day, in room 705, Victoria Building, the Chair, the Honourable Senator Murray, P.C., presiding, for the purpose of discussing draft reports.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Biron, Bolduc, Chaput, Comeau, Cools, Day, Doody, Fairbairn,P.C., Furey, Gauthier, Mahovlich and Murray, P.C. (12).
In attendance: Mr. Guy Beaumier and Stephen Laurent, Research Officers, Library of Parliament.
The committee undertook discussion of its draft report on Supplementary Estimates (B). 2002-2003.
It was moved by the Honourable Senator Doody — That the draft report on Supplementary Estimates (B) 2002- 2003 as revised by the committee be adopted and be presented by the Chairman to the Senate.
The question being put on the motion, it was adopted.
The committee undertook discussion of its draft final report on the Main Estimates 2002-2003.
It was moved by the Honourable Biron — That the draft final report on Main Estimates 2002-2003 as revised by the committee be adopted and be presented by the Chairman to the Senate.
The question being put on the motion, it was adopted.
The committee undertook discussion of its draft interim report on the Main Estimates 2003-2004.
It was moved by the Honourable Doody — That the draft interim report on Main Estimates 2003- 2004 as revised by the committee be adopted and be presented by the Chairman to the Senate.
The question being put on the motion, it was adopted.
At 10:28 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.

Pursuant to the Order of Reference adopted by the Senate on February 27, 2003, the committee continued its examination of the Estimates for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2004.

The Honourable Lucienne Robillard made an opening statement and with Mr. Neville, Mr. Kam and Mr. Bickerton answered questions from members of the committee.
