The Standing Senate Committee on Aboriginal Peoples met at 9:32 a.m., this day, in room 160-S, Centre Block, the Chair, the Honourable Nick G. Sibbeston, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Christensen, Gill, Léger, Peterson, Sibbeston and St. Germain, P.C. (6).
In attendance: From the Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament: Lisa Patterson and Frédéric Beauregard-Tellier.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the Order of Reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, November 4, 2004, the committee continued its study on the involvement of aboriginal communities and businesses in economic development activities in Canada. (See Issue No. 2, Wednesday, November 17, 2004, for the full text of the Order of Reference.)

Gerry Huebner, Manager, Program Services, Aboriginal Business Canada;
Kevin Freiheit, Senior Research Economist.
Mr. Moore made a presentation and, with Mr. Freiheit, answered questions.

At 10:38 a.m., the committee suspended.
At 10:44 a.m., pursuant to rule 92(2)(e), the committee resumed in camera to discuss a draft agenda of the committee.
It was agreed that staff remain.
At 10:58 a.m., it was agreed that the committee adjourn to the call of the Chair.

Pursuant to rule 131, referral of the response of the government to the sixth report of the Standing Senate Committee on Aboriginal Peoples entitled "Urban Aboriginal Youth: An Action Plan for Change.''
