The Standing Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry has the honour to present its
NINTH REPORT
Your Committee, which was authorized by the Senate on May 16, 2006, to examine and report on the rural poverty in Canada, respectfully requests the approval of funds for fiscal year 2007-2008.
Pursuant to Chapter 3:06, section 2(1)(c) of the Senate Administrative Rules, the budget application submitted was printed in the Journals of the Senate on March 29, 2007. On that date, the Senate approved the release of $101,428 to the Committee. The report of the Standing Committee on Internal Economy, Budgets and Administration recommending the release of additional funds is appended to this report.

APPENDIX (B) TO THE REPORT

The Standing Committee on Internal Economy, Budgets and Administration has examined the budget presented to it by the Standing Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry for the proposed expenditures of the said Committee for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2008 for the purpose of its special study on rural poverty in Canada, as authorized by the Senate on Tuesday, May 16, 2006. The approved budget is as follows:
Professional and Other Services $ 99,836 Transportation and Communications $ 245,035 All Other Expenditures $ 11,400 TOTAL (supplementary release) $ 356,271
(includes funds for conferences and public hearings in Quebec, Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut)
