The Standing Senate Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met this day at 5:11 p.m., in room 9, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Bill Rompkey, P.C., presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Cochrane, Hubley, Losier-Cool, Manning, Nancy Ruth, Patterson, Poirier, Poy, Raine, Rompkey, P.C., Stewart Olsen and Watt (12).
Other senator present: The Honourable Senator Murray, P.C. (1).
In attendance: Claude Emery, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, March 25, 2010, the committee continued to examine issues relating to the federal government's current and evolving policy framework for managing Canada's fisheries and oceans. Ms. Carney and Mr. Blagborne made a statement and, together with Mr. Square, answered questions.
At 6:37 p.m., the committee suspended.
At 6:43 p.m., the committee resumed.
Mr. Kellar, made a statement and, together with Mr. MacDonald, answered questions.
At 7:40 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
