The Standing Senate Committee on Official Languages met this day at 5 p.m., in room 9, Victoria Building, the deputy chair, the Honourable Andrée Champagne, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Bellemare, Beyak, Champagne, P.C., Chaput, McIntyre and Poirier (6).
Other senator present: The Honourable Senator Robichaud, P.C. (1).
In attendance: Marie-Ève Hudon, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament; Brigitte Lemay, Communications Officer, Senate Communications Directorate.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, November 21, 2013, the committee commenced its study on CBC/Radio-Canada's obligations under the Official Languages Act and some aspects of the Broadcasting Act.
WITNESS:

The Honourable Pierre De Bané, P.C., former senator.
Mr. De Bané, P.C., made a presentation and answered questions.
At 6:19 p.m., the committee suspended.
At 6:24 p.m., pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee proceeded in camera to discuss a draft agenda.
At 6:46 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
