The Standing Senate Committee on Energy, the Environment and Natural Resource met this day at 8:01 a.m., in room 257, Est Block, the chair, the Honourable Richard Neufeld, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Black, Dean, Fraser, Galvez, Griffin, Lang, MacDonald, Massicotte, Mockler, Neufeld, Patterson, Seidman and Wetston (13).
In attendance: Sam Banks and Jesse Good, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament; Mila Pavlovic, Communications Officer, Communications Directorate.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, March 10, 2016, the committee continued its study on the effects of transitioning to a low carbon economy. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 4.)

Michael McSweeney, President and Chief Executive Officer;
Adam Auer, Vice-President, Environment and Sustainability.
Canada's Ecofiscal Commission:
Chris Ragan, Chair.
Mr. McSweeney made a statement and, with Mr. Auer, answered questions.
At 9 a.m., the committee suspended.
At 9:01 a.m., the committee resumed.
Mr. Ragan made a statement and answered questions.
At 10:01 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
