The Standing Senate Committee on Energy, the Environment and Natural Resources met this day at 5:02 p.m., in room 257, East Block, the deputy chair, the Honourable Paul J. Massicotte, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Beyak, Black, Dean, Fraser, Galvez, Griffin, Lang, Massicotte, Mockler, Patterson, Seidman and Wetston (12).
Other senator present: The Honourable Senator Eggleton, P.C. (1).
In attendance: Sam Banks, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, May 4, 2017, the committee began its study of Bill C-18, An Act to amend the Rouge National Urban Park Act, the Parks Canada Agency Act and the Canada National Parks Act.

The Honourable Catherine McKenna, P.C., MP, Minister of the Environment and Climate Change.
WITNESSES:

Daniel Watson, Chief Executive Officer;
Pam Veinotte, Field Unit Superintendent, Rouge National Urban Park;
Rachel Grasham, Director, Policy, Legislative and Cabinet Affairs.
The minister made a statement and, together with Mr. Watson, answered questions.
At 5:50 p.m., the committee suspended.
At 5:51 p.m., the committee resumed.
Mr. Watson and Ms. Veinotte answered questions.
At 6:15 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
