The Standing Senate Committee on Energy, the Environment and Natural Resources met this day at 9:03 a.m., in room 2, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Senator Rosa Galvez, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Carignan, P.C., Cordy, Doyle, Galvez, LaBoucane- Benson, MacDonald, Massicotte, McCallum, Mitchell, Mockler, Patterson, Richards, Seidman, Simons, Tkachuk and Woo (16).
Other senators present: The Honourable Senators Black (Alberta), McCoy, Miville-Dechêne, Pratte and Wetston (5).

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Wednesday, December 12, 2018, the committee continued its consideration of Bill C-69, An Act to enact the Impact Assessment Act and the Canadian Energy Regulator Act, to amend the Navigation Protection Act and to make consequential amendments to other acts.

Ms. Velshi and Ms. Lapointe each made a statement and, with Mr. Fox, Mr. Steedman and Mr. Rinker, answered questions.
At 10:43 a.m., the committee suspended.
At 10:56 a.m., the Honourable Senator Doyle replaced the Honourable Senator Carignan.
At 11 a.m., the committee resumed.
Ms. Lapointe, Ms. Velshi, Mr. Fox, Mr. Steedman, Mr. Parker and Mr. Rinker answered questions.
At 12:02 p.m., the committee suspended.
At 12:08 p.m., the committee resumed.
Ms. Copland made a statement and, together with Mr. Barry, answered questions.
At 12:51 p.m., the deputy chair, the Honourable Senator MacDonald, assumed the chair.
At 1:01 p.m., the committee suspended.
At 2:03 p.m., the committee resumed, the chair, the Honourable Senator Galvez, presiding.
Mr. Taylor made a statement and, together with Mr. Clark, Ms. Dent and Mr. Rutwind, answered questions.
At 3:03 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
