The Standing Senate Committee on Energy, the Environment and Natural Resources met this day at 8:02 a.m., in room B45, Senate of Canada Building, the chair, the Honourable Rosa Galvez, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Carignan, P.C., Galvez, LaBoucane-Benson, MacDonald, Manning, Massicotte, McCallum, McInnis, Mitchell, Mockler, Neufeld, Ngo, Patterson, Richards, Seidman, Simons, Smith and Woo (18).
Other senators present: The Honourable Senators Black (Alberta), McCoy and Pratte (3).
Also present: Jesse Good, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Wednesday, December 12, 2018, the committee continued its consideration of Bill C-69, An Act to enact the Impact Assessment Act and the Canadian Energy Regulator Act, to amend the Navigation Protection Act and to make consequential amendments to other Acts. At 9:13 a.m., the committee resumed.
The Minister made a statement and answered questions.
At 10:06 a.m., the Honourable Senator Manning replaced the Honourable Senator Carignan, P.C., as a member of the committee, the Honourable Senator Patterson replaced the Honourable Senator Smith as a member of the committee, and the Honourable Senator McInnis replaced the Honourable Senator Seidman as a member of the committee.
At 10:13 a.m., the committee suspended.
At 10:16 a.m., the committee resumed.
Mr.Mar and Mr.Au made statements and, together with Ms.Aquin, answered questions.
At 10:42 a.m., the Honourable Senator Ngo replaced the Honourable Senator Manning as a member of the committee.
At 11:04 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
