Pursuant to rule 104(2), the committee reports that the expenses incurred by the committee during the Third Session of the Fortieth Parliament and the Intersessional Authority during the period following dissolution of the Third Session of the Fortieth Parliament were as follows:

In its first report, which was tabled in the Senate on December 8, 2010, your committee reported on its expenses incurred by the committee during the Second Session of the Fortieth Parliament and the Intersessional Authority during the period following prorogation of the Second Session of the Fortieth Parliament, pursuant to rule 104(2).
Your committee's second report requested funds for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2011, and requested that it be empowered to engage the services of such counsel and technical, clerical and other personnel as may be necessary for the purpose of its activities. Presented on December 9, 2010 the report was adopted by the Senate on February 8, 2011.
The membership of your committee for the Third Session of the Fortieth Parliament was approved by the Senate on December 2, 2010.

That the report be adopted and that, pursuant to rule 131(2), the Senate request a complete and detailed response from the government, with the Minister of Fisheries and Oceans being identified as minister responsible for responding to the report, in consultation with the Minister responsible for Parks Canada.

Consideration of the first report of the Standing Joint Committee on the Library of Parliament (mandate of the committee and quorum), presented in the Senate on October 4, 2011.

In amendment, the Honourable Senator Robichaud, P.C., moved, seconded by the Honourable Senator Mahovlich, that the motion to adopt the report be amended by adding the following:
"and that, pursuant to rule 131(2), the Senate request a complete and detailed response from the government, with the Minister of Natural Resources being identified as minister responsible for responding to the report''.
The Honourable Senator Eaton moved, seconded by the Honourable Senator Braley, that further debate on the motion in amendment be adjourned until the next sitting.

That the Standing Senate Committee on Fisheries and Oceans be authorized to examine and report on the management of the grey seal population off Canada's East Coast; and
That the committee report from time to time to the Senate but no later than June 30, 2012, and that the committee retain all powers necessary to publicize its findings until December 31, 2012.
