MORNING MEETING

The Special Committee of the Senate on Bill C-110, An Act respecting constitutional amendments, met at 9:35 a.m. this day, the Chair, the Honourable Senator Noël A. Kinsella, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: The Honourable Senators Andreychuk, Beaudoin, Carstairs, De Bané, Gauthier, Kinsella, MacEachen, Marchand, Murray and St. Germain. (10)

Other senator present: The Honourable Senator Di Nino.

In attendance: From the Research Branch, Library of Parliament: Mollie Dunsmuir, Law and Government Division; Brian O'Neal and Jack Stilborn of the Political and Social Affairs Division.

Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.

The Committee resumed consideration of Bill C-110, An Act respecting constitutional amendments.

The witnesses from the Assembly of First Nations made a statement.

It was agreed, - That the presentation by the Assembly of First Nations be filed with the Clerk of the Committee as Exhibit 5700 - 1.35 / C-110 "6".

The witnesses from the Congress of Aboriginal Peoples made a statement.

The witnesses from the Inuit Tapirisat of Canada made a statement.

It was agreed, - That the presentation by the Inuit Tapirisat of Canada be filed with the Clerk of the Committee as Exhibit 5700 - 1.35 / C-110 "7".

The witnesses from the Métis National Council made a statement.

It was agreed, - That the presentation by the Métis National Council be filed with the Clerk of the Committee as Exhibit 5700- 1.35 / C-110 "8".

The witnesses from the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations made a statement.
