The Special Committee of the Senate on the Pearson Airport Agreements met this day at 8:00 a.m., the Chair, the Honourable Senator Finlay MacDonald (Halifax), presiding.

Members of the Committee present: The Honourable Senators Bryden, Jessiman, Kirby, LeBreton, Lynch-Staunton, MacDonald (Halifax), Stewart and Tkachuk. (8)

In attendance: John Nelligan, Q.C., Counsel to the Committee.

WITNESSES:

Robert Nixon, Chairman of the Board, Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd.;

Allan Crosbie, Crosbie & Company Inc.;

Stephen Goudge, Gowling, Strathy land Henderson.

It was agreed that the table entitled "Present Value of Incremental Cash Flow to government under different rates of return on equity" be printed as an appendix to today's proceedings.

It was agreed that Mr. Vineberg's letter to Mr. Goudge dated December 15, 1993 be printed as an appendix to today's proceedings.

The witnesses made a statement and answered questions.

At 12:15 p.m., the Committee recessed.

At 1:45 p.m., the Committee resumed.

At 3:00 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
