The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met at 5:25 p.m. this day, in Room 356-S, the Deputy Chairman, the Honourable Senator De Bané, P.C., presiding.

Members of the Committee present: The Honourable Senators De Bané, Bolduc, Mercier and Rizzuto (4)

In attendance: from the Library of Parliament, Research Branch: Guy Beaumier.

Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.

WITNESSES:

Jeff Greenberg, Individual.

Peter Milliken, M.P., Deputy Chairman of the Committee of the Whole.

From the Treasury Board of Canada:

Mike Joyce, Director, Expenditure Management Sector, Estimates Division.

Pursuant to its Order of Reference adopted by the Senate on Wednesday, December 11, 1996, the Committee concluded the examination of Bill C-270, An Act to amend the Financial Administration Act (session of Parliament).

Mr. Greenberg made opening remarks and, with Messrs. Milliken and Joyce, answered questions.

Senator Rizzuto moved that Bill C-270 be reported without amendment.

The question being put on the motion, it was agreed.

At 6:10 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
