The Standing Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs met this day at 4 p.m., in Room 256-S of the Centre Block, the Chairman, the Honourable John B. Stewart, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Andreychuk, Corbin, De Bané and Stewart. (4)
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Mr. Anthony Chapman, Economics Division.
Also in attendance: Official Senate reporters.
WITNESSES:
From the Conference of Ocean Carriers:
Brenda Johnston, Manager CWRA, Vice-President ACS;
Albert Pierce, Managing Director CWRA;
Klaus Schenede, Pricing Manager, North America;
Henry Munz, Sales Manager Canada; and
Barry Olsen, President of Maersk.
The committee resumed consideration of its order of reference pertaining to relations between Canada and the Asia-Pacific region (see committee proceedings of October 2, 1996, issue no. 8).
Ms Johnston made a presentation and along with the other witnesses, answered questions.
At 5:43 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
