The Standing Senate Committee on Energy, the Environment, and Natural Resources met at 9:30 a.m. this day, in room 257, East Block, the Chair, the Honourable Nicholas W. Taylor, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Adams, Banks, Christensen, Cochrane, Eyton, Finnerty, Kenny, Sibbeston and Taylor (9).
Other senators present: The Honourable Senators Grafstein and Watt (2).
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament, Lynne Myers, Research Officer, and Mollie Duns muir.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the Order of Reference adopted by the Senate on May 10, 2001, the Committee proceeded to study Bill S-18. (See Issue No.11, Tuesday, June 5, 2001 and Thursday, June 7, 2001 for full text of the Order of Reference.)

From the Western Irrigation District:

The witnesses made a presentation and answered questions.
The Town of Chestermere, the Town of Strathmore and the Western Irrigation District submitted a brief.
At 10:30 a.m., it was agreed - That the committee adjourn to the call of the Chair.
