The Standing Senate Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology met this day, in the Confederation Room, The Fairmont Royal York Hotel, Toronto, Ontario, at 9:05 a.m., the Deputy Chair, the Honourable Marjory LeBreton, presiding.

Pursuant to the Order of Reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, March 1, 2001, the Committee continued its consider ation of the special study on the state of the health care system in Canada. (For complete text of Order of Reference see Proceedings of the Committee, Issue No. 2.)
Mr. Decker made a statement and answered questions.
At 10:25 a.m., Ms Grinspun and Mr. MacKinnon made opening statements and answered questions.
At 11:30 a.m., Professor Flood, Dr. Mustard and Professor Hurley made opening statements and answered questions.
At 1:30 p.m., Senator Kirby took the chair.
Mr. Mitchinson, Mr. Elliott and Ms Farnham, on behalf Mr. Latowsky, made opening statements and answered questions.
At 2:45 p.m., Mr. Crawford, Ms Gulliver, Ms Laurin-Bowie, Ms Easton, Ms Hurley and Ms Morgenthal made opening remarks and answered questions.
At 4:10 p.m., Mr. Campbell and Mr. Babb made statements.
At 4:20 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
