The Standing Senate Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology met this day, in room 705, Victoria Building, at 11:05 a.m., the Acting Chair, the Honourable Yves Morin, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Cook, Cordy, Fairbairn, P.C., Keon, Morin and Pépin (6).
Other senators present: The Honourable Senators Comeau, Gauthier and Losier-Cool (3).
In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Marion Ménard.
Pursuant to the Order of Reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, December 6, 2001, the committee began its consideration of the document entitled ``Santé en français — Pour un meilleur accès à des services de santé en français.'' (For complete text of Order of Reference see Proceedings of the Committee, Issue No. 50.)

Mr. Nouvet made a statement and, together with Mr. Léger, answered questions.
