The Special Senate Committee on Anti-terrorism met in camera at 1:00 p.m. this day, in room 2, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Hugh Segal, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Dallaire, Jaffer, Marshall, Nolin, Segal, Smith, P.C. (Cobourg), Tkachuk and Wallin (8).
In attendance: Dominique Valiquet and Cynthia Kirkby, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, May 27, 2010, the committee continued its examination on matters relating to anti-terrorism. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 1.)
The committee, pursuant to rule 92(2)(e), considered a draft agenda.
The committee, pursuant to rule 92(2)(f), considered a draft report of the committee.
It was moved that the committee allow the recording of the in camera portions of today's meeting, that one copy be kept in the office of the clerk of the committee for consultation by committee members and/or by the committee analysts, and that the transcript be destroyed by the clerk when authorized to do so by the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure, but no later than at the end of this parliamentary session.
The question being put on the motion, it was adopted.
It was moved that the Senate staff present in the room be entitled to stay for the in camera meeting.

At 3:30 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.

It was moved that the draft report, as amended today, be adopted; and that the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure be empowered to approve the final version of the report taking into consideration this meeting's discussions, and with any necessary editorial, grammatical and translation changes required.

It was moved that the chair be authorized to table the report in the Senate, at the earliest opportunity.
