The Standing Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade met this day at 11:31 a.m., in room C128, Senate of Canada Building, the deputy chair, the Honourable V. Peter Harder, P.C., presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Boniface, Coyle, Deacon (Ontario), Greene, Harder, P.C., Ravalia, Richards and Woo (8).
Other senators present: The Honourable Senator Dalphond (1).
Participating in the meeting: Nadia Faucher and Brian Hermon, analysts, Library of Parliament.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Monday, October 17, 2022, the committee continued its comprehensive review of the provisions and operation of the Sergei Magnitsky Law and of the Special Economic Measures Act.

Thomas Juneau, Associate Professor, Public and International Affairs, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ottawa.
Clara Portela and Thomas Juneau each made a statement and answered questions.
