The Standing Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry met this day at 9 a.m., in room B45, Senate of Canada Building, the chair, the Honourable Robert Black, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Black, Burey, Cotter, Jaffer, McNair, Oh, Petitclerc and Simons (8).
Other senators present: The Honourable Senator Robinson (1).
Participating in the meeting: Joanne Markle LaMontagne, Analyst, Library of Parliament.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, February 10, 2022, the committee continued its study on issues relating to agriculture and forestry generally. (Topic: The growing issue of wildfires in Canada and the consequential effects that wildfires have on forestry and agriculture industries)

Joshua Rose, Director, Northern Governance and Partnerships Directorate.
Indigenous Services Canada:
Paula Hadden-Jokiel, Assistant Deputy Minister;
James Moxon, Director General, Sector Operations Branch (by videoconference);
Rory O'Connor, Director General, Regional Infrastructure Delivery Branch.
Wayne Walsh and Paula Hadden-Jokiel each made a statement and, together with James Moxon, Rory O’Connor and Joshua Rose, answered questions.
At 10:20 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
