The Standing Committee on Audit and Oversight met this day in room W110, 1 Wellington St., at 5:58 p.m., the chair, the Honourable Marty Klyne, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Downe, Dupuis, Klyne and Wells (4).

External members of the committee present: Hélène F. Fortin and Robert Plamondon (2).

Pursuant to rule 12-7(4), the committee continued its consideration of the Senate’s internal and external audits and related matters.

The committee considered a draft budget application for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2024.

Notwithstanding the decision of March 22, 2023, and pursuant to Chapter 3:05, subsection 2(3) of the Senate Administrative Rules, it was agreed that the special study budget application on the Senate’s internal and external audits and related matters, for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2024, be submitted directly to the Senate.

At 5:59 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
