The Standing Senate Committee on Banking, Commerce and the Economy met this day at 11:32 a.m., in room W110, 1 Wellington St., the chair, the Honourable Pamela Wallin, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Fridhandler, Gignac, Loffreda, Marshall, Martin, Varone, Wallin and Yussuff (8).
Participating in the meeting: Brett Howard and Adriane Yong, analysts, Library of Parliament.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, December 16, 2021, the committee continued its study of matters relating to banking, trade and commerce generally.
WITNESSES:
Financial Transactions and Report Analysis Centre of Canada:
Sarah Paquet, Director and Chief Executive Officer;
Philippe Blanchette, Acting Deputy Director, Supervision Sector;
Annette Ryan, Deputy Director, Partnership, Policy and Analysis Sector.
Sarah Paquet made a statement and, together with Philippe Blanchette and Annette Ryan, answered questions.
At 12:28 p.m., the committee suspended.
At 12:29 p.m., the committee resumed.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, October 10, 2024, the committee continued its examination on Canada’s monetary policy framework.
