Pursuant to the order of the Senate of November 25, 2021, the Standing Senate Committee on Official Languages met this day in room C128, Senate of Canada Building, and with videoconference, at 6:02 p.m. ET, the chair, the Honourable René Cormier, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Clement, Cormier, Dalphond and Gagné (4).

Members of the committee present by videoconference: The Honourable Senators Dagenais, Mégie, Mockler, Moncion and Poirier (5).

Participating in the meeting: Sara Gajic, Legislative Clerk and Laurie-Anne Spooner, Administrative Assistant, Committees Directorate; Marie-Ève Hudon, Analyst, Library of Parliament.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, the committee continued its study on the application of the Official Languages Act and of the regulations and directives made under it, within those institutions subject to the Act.

The minister made a statement and, together with Mireille Laroche and Carsten Quell, answered questions.

At 7:01 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
