The Standing Senate Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met in camera this day at 10:01 a.m., in room W110, 1 Wellington St., the deputy chair, the Honourable Bev Busson, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Ataullahjan, Busson, Cordy, Deacon (Nova Scotia), Duncan, Kutcher, McPhedran, Petten and Ravalia (9).
Participating in the meeting: Daniele Lafrance, Analyst, Library of Parliament; Ben Silverman, Communications Officer, Communications, Broadcasting and Publications Directorate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, the committee continued its examination of Canada’s seal populations and seal harvest.
Pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee discussed in camera a draft agenda (future business).
It was agreed that the transcription of this in camera meeting be permitted, that one copy of the transcript be kept with the clerk for consultation purposes, and that the copy be destroyed at the end of the parliamentary session.
At 11:02 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
