The Standing Senate Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met this day at 9:03 a.m., in room W110, 1 Wellington St.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Ataullahjan, Aucoin, Cordy, Deacon (Nova Scotia), Deacon (Ontario), McPhedran and Petten (7).
Participating in the meeting: Melissa Doyle, Procedural Clerk, Committees Directorate; Daniele Lafrance and Poonam Jusrut, analysts, Library of Parliament.
The clerk informed the committee of the unavoidable absences of the chair and deputy chair and presided over the election of an acting chair.
The Honourable Senator Cordy moved that the Honourable Senator Deacon (Nova Scotia) be the acting chair.
The question being put on the motion, it was adopted.
The acting chair took the chair.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, the committee continued its examination on the Great Lakes Fishery Commission and its work.
