The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met this day at 9:02 a.m., in room W110, 1 Wellington St., the chair, the Honourable Claude Carignan, P.C., presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Cardozo, Carignan, P.C., Dalphond, Forest, Galvez, Gignac, Hébert, Kingston, MacAdam, Marshall, Miville-Dechêne and Ross (12).
Participating in the meeting: Sylvain Fleury and Michaël Lambert-Racine, analysts, Library of Parliament.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, the committee continued its examination of federal programs and initiatives to support the creation of housing.
WITNESSES:
Office of the Parliamentary Budget Officer:
Jason Jacques, Interim Parliamentary Budget Officer;
Mark Mahabir, Director General, Costing and Budgetary Analysis.
Jason Jacques made a statement and answered questions.
At 10:02 a.m., the committee suspended.
At 10:09 a.m., the committee resumed.
At 10:09 a.m., the deputy chair, the Honourable Senator Forest, took the chair.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, the committee continued its study of matters relating to federal estimates generally and other financial matters.
