Senator Mobina Jaffer wants Parliamentarians to make women’s voices more prominent in global conflict resolution and peace processes.

The Senator from British Columbia has produced a guidebook titled The Key to Lasting Peace: Increasing Female Representation in Peace Processes, which describes how to include women in peace processes.

was an active participant in the development of the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 on women, peace and security, which acknowledges that women offer unique perspectives on war.

Female involvement could improve the outcomes of peace processes, which currently have a dismal failure rate.

Sen. Jaffer is urging Canadian Parliamentarians to integrate women into all stages of the peace process: Peacemaking, peacebuilding, reconstruction, and peacekeeping.
